2006 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon "Red Capsule"

2006 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon

Diamond Mountain District, Napa Valley (75 cases produced). For our second wine of the 2006 harvest we decided to utilize the grapes of the Creek-side vineyard to make a lighter style wine  which would compliment the al fresco style of living and eating in the Napa Valley.  For this project we selected the excellent winemakers at Judd’s Hill Microcrush who have long had the reputation of making high-quality drinkable wines.  Following fermentation in early November 2006, the wine was aged in french oak for over 18 months until bottling in May of last year.  The resulting vintage was exactly what we sought.  The wine has a rich garnet color, a youthful fruity nose with hints of blueberry and currant which expand through the palate giving way to ripe plum and spice flavors which persist seamlessly through the lingering finish.  This wine is the perfect compliment to a well-prepared meal.

Cost: $ 45.00 each, $ 540.00 per case of 12

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon "Red Capsule" Wine Information

"This wine rocks! Made in a Bordeaux style – meaning, not too much fruit nor oak – this wine has this elegant complexity and it is hard to pin down where it comes from. Many layers of different fruits come out but all of them are subtle, not like POW in your face. A wave of blackberry then a waft of cherry. Vanilla, then earth, then currant. Very cool wine. Has the long and rich Diamond Mountain finish. Have this bottle with a Filet Mignon and watch how perfect they go together." - Todd Miller, Wine Merchant
